The fall foliage is beginning to reach its peak in the beautiful Northeast. Generally, the middle of October is the most colorful time of year, deep russet, golden and orange hues. And with the sky a clear blue, the leaves look extra magnificent.
October marks my fourth and final month in the Hudson Valley. Since the demanding tasks of the move and helping my mother get settled are behind me now, I am ready to journey back south! My return ticket has been purchased and the big day is October 29th!
The summer flew by but it has been productive and fulfilling. Seercircle has been making great contacts and connections in the Hudson region.
On Saturday September 27th, I boarded the morning Amtrak train heading into New York City. The tracks follow the Hudson River and the views are quite spectacular. Within 2 hours I arrived into Penn Station. The weather was perfect, warmer than usual.
As many of you already know, I am a Haiku Poet and have been for about a decade. A conference was taking place at the West Best Community Center. I was delighted to be able to attend. The timing was perfect. It was wonderful to be in the company of so many talented Poets sharing Haiku and ideas. Even Haiku Guy and the Editor of Bottle Rockets were there.
Dinner was a delicious meal at Dublin 6, a pub in Greenwich Village. The entire day was a joy! By 9:15p.m. I was boarding the northbound train back up to Hudson! A perfect end to a perfect day…
I have truly enjoyed my 4 month stay here in Hudson, NY. Much needed to be taken care of and it was. The Universe has so much to teach us if we are willing to learn. And yes, this year has been full of lessons, full of blessings too.
Now is the time for me to travel back to wonderful New Orleans. My friends, apartment and routine were greatly missed. It will take a little time to get back into the rhythm of life in the Crescent City but it will be a joyful reunion.
